The Pike County Democratic Committee and Delaware Valley Action will hold a slideshow presentation and peaceful protests on Friday and Saturday, July 17 and 18.
Friday, 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.: A slideshow presentation titled “What Is Fascism,” held at 310 E. Harford St. in Milford, PA. Concerned neighbors will unite, in the spirit of John Lewis, to teach our fellow citizens how to recognize fascism in the many ways it presents under the current administration.
Saturday: Two peaceful protests intended to create ICE awareness for Pike County residents. People of goodwill can come together to peacefully protest and to educate others about the injustices of ICE in Pike County and beyond. Includes the recent 100 percent utilization of Pike County’s detention center for the confinement of ICE detainees as a money-making venture.
The first will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of U.S. Highway 6 and PA Route 739.
The second takes place from 10 a.m. to noon at 315 Broad St., Milford, PA.
