CALLICOON, NY & DAMASCUS, PA — The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is advising motorists of a second temporary full closure of the Callicoon Bridge (Interstate Bridge #7) for a planned concrete installation. The bridge, which spans the Delaware River between Bridge Street in the hamlet of Callicoon, Sullivan County, and State Route 1016 in Damascus Township, Pennsylvania is scheduled to close on Tuesday, June 2, starting at approximately 6 a.m., with a tentative backup date of June 3. This closure may last up to 48 hours.
This second full closure is necessary to continue the work of installing concrete on newly constructed bridge spans as part of a $17.8 million project scheduled for completion in November 2027.
Motorists, including commercial and freight traffic, should follow detours and messaging displayed on NYSDOT variable message signs. Pedestrian and bicycle access will remain open during the closure.
