Jonathan Fritz (R-111) first was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives in 2016. Prior to holding elected office, he served as general manager and head of sales for a tractor and farm machinery dealership. He also served as the mayor of Honesdale and as a Wayne County Commissioner.

According to Fritz’s website, “His legislative priorities include protecting our farms and rural way of life, maximizing business and responsible industry growth, increasing PA’s energy potential, reforming regulations, advocating for first-responder organizations, and, overall, making our Commonwealth as successful, inviting and vibrant as it can be.”

Fritz serves on the finance, gaming oversight, insurance, liquor control and rules committees. As reported by Spotlight PA, Fritz was one of four legislative allies of the skills industry who filed a petition asking for the state Supreme Court for a stay on the enforcement of a June ruling that skill games are subject to the state’s gambling law.

Fritz has previously supported an overturn of the Delaware River Basin Commission’s ban on fracking throughout the basin, saying at a 2026 roundtable, “We have tried six ways from Sunday, legislatively and legally, to correct this wrong” (i.e., the ban).

Additionally, Fritz has co-sponsored legislation to help start-up businesses convert net operating losses to capital, seeing it as a necessary step to help business in the commonwealth.

“Pennsylvania should always be in the mix when companies are looking to start up or move operations,” said Fritz. “We have all the ingredients needed to prosper, like great institutions of higher education, quality health care networks, ample recreation opportunities, ideal geographic proximity and a hardworking mindset. We just need a more pro-business environment.”
