In my mind, forgiveness and gratitude are hitched together.
With gratitude, we acknowledge that good things happen, and recognize that the source of goodness is outside of ourselves. Forgiveness is the flip side of gratitude. It involves offering mercy and understanding instead of vengeance to others. It frees up space in our own hearts.
And somehow, when we maintain a grateful attitude, it seems that forgiveness is easier to find.
