UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Owners or employees of farm, food and other agriculture-related businesses can get information about the range of health care and insurance options available to workers by attending an upcoming Penn State Extension webinar.
The “AgWorks: Navigating Health Insurance for Farm Workers” webinar will occur from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 19.
This webinar will provide practical guidance on connecting workers with health care and insurance, tailored for owners, workers and service providers in the agricultural and food sectors. The session will include a one-hour presentation with interactive elements, followed by an optional second hour dedicated to questions and answers.
Participants can learn about simple strategies to support farm and agribusiness workers, options and eligibility based on immigration status, and how to locate relevant resources and providers.
Penn State Extension will offer this webinar at no cost, thanks to an AgWorks grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. To help track grant reach and eligibility, participants will be asked questions about their farm or agribusiness during registration. Responses will remain confidential and will not be shared outside the project team.
As part of the AgWorks grant initiative, no-cost training and consultation services are available to qualifying small- to medium-sized farms and agribusinesses in Pennsylvania. For more information, visit AgWorks.
Participants must register by Nov. 19 to receive the link to access the webinar. A link to the recorded webinar will be emailed to registrants within 10 business days after the live event. The recording will be accessible for six months from the event date.
More information is available on the Penn State Extension website.
