SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Sullivan 180 has announced the recipients of the 2025-2027 Healthier Generation grants. The grants support schools in their efforts to support health and wellness for students and staff through nutrition, physical activity and social and emotional wellness.
Eldred Central School District and Tri-Valley Central School District were awarded Healthier Generation District Impact Grants in the amount of $20,000 to support initiatives that strengthen student well-being, leadership, and school culture.
Eldred will implement “Eldred Ignite,” which provides district-wide mental health and anti-bullying programming, sensory support resources for students and transportation for a Hope Squad Educational Exchange.
Tri-Valley will launch the Leader in Me Life-Ready Leadership Curriculum and Credentials program for students in grades 9-12, with programming for grades 7-8 that will develop leadership skills, strengthen student voices and promote positive academic and personal growth.
District Impact Grants support district-wide or school-based initiatives that advance Wellness Policy goals and improve health and wellness outcomes.
The following five Sullivan County schools were awarded $10,000 Competition Grants. These grants promote innovative campaigns that elevate school wellness and engage the broader school community.
Fallsburg Junior Senior High School for mental health/peer support
Liberty Elementary for a nature trail and outdoor seating
Sullivan West Elementary for physical fitness and a care cupboard
Tri-Valley Elementary for forest school
The following nine Sullivan County schools have been awarded School Grants in the amount of $4,000 for building-level projects that increase awareness of and support wellness policy goals.
Rubin Pollack Education Center at BOCES for a walking classroom and playground
George Ross Mackenzie Elementary for desk bikes
Eldred Junior Senior High School for a trail and blender bike
Liberty Middle School for a trail, Gaga ball and more
Emma Chase Elementary for cafeteria revitalization
George L. Cooke Elementary for a forest school
Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary for a forest school
Monticello High School for Clash of the Classes
Rockland Elementary for a weight room and more
