NEWBURGH, NY — Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties (HOSC) will implement a new state-of-the-art electronic medical record (EMR) system, made possible in part through a $25,000 grant from Resorts World Catskills through its RW Gives charitable giving program.
The system will enhance patient care, improve operational efficiency and strengthen dignified end-of-life services for individuals and families facing life’s most difficult moments, HOSC said.
The new EMR system provides access to comprehensive patient information and enables faster communication, more informed decision-making and stronger care coordination across all settings, said HOSC president and CEO Eric Gatsik. “This new system also will reduce time spent on paperwork and administrative tasks. Automated workflows and new capabilities will allow staff to complete documentation more efficiently—freeing them to spend more meaningful time with patients and their loved ones.”
Gatsik thanked Resorts World Catskills and its RW Gives program for the grant.
The new electronic medical record system, called Firenote, also will support long-term organizational sustainability through improved accuracy, stronger compliance and reporting capabilities, HOSC said. “It also will offer advanced metrics that will be vital during data-driven decision-making.”
