ROCK HILL, NY — Jazz vocalist and internationally known performer Donna Singer will join the Rock Hill Summer Concert Series on Wednesday, July 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the town park, also known as Lake Ida Park.
Singer has appeared on stages in London, England; Rome, Italy; and in Ireland, Wales and Switzerland. She’s stopping off in upstate New York for a concert with the Swing Shift Orchestra, an 18-piece big band.
They’ll be performing the music of Count Basie, Duke Ellington and the songwriting team of Roy Singer and Mitchell Uscher.
Singer earned her degree at the New York Academy of Theatrical Arts and completed further studies at Juilliard. Her live performances have been featured at venues such as Carnegie Hall, John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Metropolitan Opera Guild Recital Hall in Lincoln Center.
She is the author of “Raising the Bar: A Conversation with Donna Singer and Others” and her latest Christmas single, “The Marvelous Magical Merry Mrs. Claus,” charted at #1 on the Roots Music Report for three weeks.
