MILANVILLE, PA — SEEDS will host its annual membership meeting and dinner at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8 at the Barn at Boyds Mills, located at the Highlights Foundation Retreat Center in Milanville.
It’s a chance to provide some valuable input to the board and staff of SEEDS as the group plans for 2026, a SEEDS newsletter noted.
SEEDS is striving to empower individuals with knowledge to live a life of sustainability, but it says it needs to hear from the community. What would people like to learn in the workshop/forum series? What information are neighbors looking for to take those first steps to sustainable living? Who else needs to be at the table for these conversations?
The event will begin with a brief meeting to review a proposed change to the bylaws that govern how SEEDS operates. At its August 11 meeting, the SEEDS board approved the proposed change to make SEEDS more open to community participation by eliminating the idea of “members” and “membership.” If approved, all SEEDS supporters in attendance at future annual (or special) meetings will be able to vote on our future officers or bylaw amendments.
SEEDS will also elect officers.
The Highlights Foundation Retreat Center is located at 392 Boyds Mills Road.
