HONESDALE, PA - Wayne County District Attorney A.G. Howell announced the following cases were addressed by the Honorable Janine Edwards, President Judge Wayne County Court on December 5, 2024:

KURT OWEN, age 32, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to no less than 11 months nor more than 23 1/2 months incarcerated in a Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and one count of Simple Assault.

JAMES GIBSON, age 40, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to no less than 9 months nor more than 24 months incarcerated in a State Correctional Institution on one count of Simple Assault. 

THEODORE MANTA, age 70, of Honesdale, PA sentenced to no less than 28 days (time served) months nor more than 23 ½ months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Possession of Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. 

MATTHEW FEBBO, age 42, of Avoca, PA was sentenced to no less than 10 days nor more than 6 months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of DUI- 2nd Offense. 

DANIEL BUTTCHER, age 29, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to no less than 8 months nor more than 23 ½ months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer, one count of Recklessly Endangering Another Person and one count of Driving While Operating Privilege Suspended/Revoked. 

MARK BOWSER, age 34, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to no less than 98 days (time served) nor more than 12 months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Simple Assault. 

JULIAN HYLAND, age 33, of Thompson, PA was sentenced to no less than 115 days (time served) nor more than 23 ½ months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Terroristic Threats and one count of False Reports to Law Enforcement Authorities. 

MELISSA SCURTO, age 41, of Chester, WV was sentenced to no less than 5 days nor more than 6 months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of DUI: General Impairment /Incapable of Safe Driving – 2nd Offense. 

JOHN AUSTIN, age 64, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to no less than 21 months nor more than 52 months incarcerated in a State Correctional Facility on one count of DUI- Highest rate- 3rd Offense and one count of Driving while Operating Privilege Suspended/Revoked.

JOHN CARDELL, age 64, of Saylorsburg, PA was placed on probation for a period of 6 months on one count of DUI: General Impairment/Incapable of Safe Driving- 1st Offense. 

CHRISTIAN LAFLAIR-CASTELLANO, age 20, of Honesdale, PA was sentenced to no less than 18 days (time served) nor more than 18 months incarcerated in the Wayne County Correctional Facility on one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, one count of Criminal Mischief and one count of Harassment.
