DAMASCUS, PA — The Damascus Manor Community Center announced the return of its annual Community Pepperfest, scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 3. The event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the Damascus Manor Community Center building and grounds, 60 Conklin Hill Road. Look for the giant pepper!

“Promising a flavorful afternoon, this highly anticipated event gathers local pepper growers, gardeners, vendors and food lovers to celebrate the pepper harvest,” organizers said. Donations will be gratefully accepted at the gate to support the DMCC and its community programs.

This year’s Pepperfest line-up boasts an array of attractions designed for all ages, including:

Flight of Peppers: A guided trip from sweet to “as hot as you like”;

Home-grown hot sauce tasting and sale

Yoghurt relief station;

Tasting table, where community cooks will offer a chance to try unique pepper-themed culinary creations (hot and not-so-hot);

Hot pepper stories told live by members of the Yarnslingers storytelling group;

Live music by the “Homegrown Tomatoes,” an old-time fiddler acoustic music group;

“The Heat is Right” contest with a prize; and

A 50/50 raffle.
