DAMASCUS TOWNSHIP, PA — Damascus Township launched a new, Americans with Disabilities compliant website on July 6, 2026 to improve public access to expanded information, funded partially by an Upper Delaware Council Fiscal Year 2026 Technical Assistance Grants (TAG).

The township contracted with Jessica Aiese-Davoli, owner of Three Birds Creative of Tyler Hill, PA, to design a customized WordPress website with user-friendly content, branding, security set-up, Search Engine Optimization, a website owners’ manual and post-launch training.

The websites of all state and local government websites serving populations of 50,000 or more must conform to federal Web Content Accessibility Guidelines for web content and mobile applications by an April 26, 2027 deadline. Those below 50,000 have until April 26, 2028.

Aiese-Davoli consulted with township officials to develop www.damascustwp.org. The site includes a history section, list of officials and their contacts, a monthly calendar of township meetings and tabs organized as Planning & Zoning, Roads & Bridges, Ordinances, Facilities, Short-term Rentals, Weather & Nature, Forms and Useful Links.

The Upper Delaware Council approved a $3,000 TAG award to Damascus Township on October 2, 2025 towards the $6,000 project which was completed by the August 21, 2026 deadline.

Since its 1988 inception, the UDC has cumulatively awarded $968,463.50 to its member towns, townships, and the five river valley counties to fund 270 municipal projects that further the goals and objectives of the Upper Delaware Scenic and Recreational River Management Plan.
