The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the following incident.
On December 20, 2025 at 2:20pm, PSP Honesdale responded to the 2600 block of Owego Turnpike in Paupack Township, Wayne County, for a crash involving a fire truck that was responding to an emergency call.
Upon PSP's arrival, it was determined that the fire truck driver and passenger were not on scene and had already been transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital. The driver of the fire truck was identified as the accused, Shane Farrell, 30, of Hawley.
Investigation revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. On January 13, 2026, a criminal complaint and
affidavit of probable cause was completed charging Farrell with DUI and related offenses.
Charges were filed at Magisterial District Court 22-3-01.
