MILFORD, PA — Join the Columns Museum at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 25 in the Foundation Room for an evening featuring the 1963 science fiction film, “Monstrosity.”

The movie, infamous for its quirky storyline and unintentional humor, has garnered a cult following over the years thanks to its bizarre premise.

Also known as “The Atomic Brain,” this unique film tells the tale of Mrs. Hettie March, a wealthy and unscrupulous elderly woman determined to have her brain transplanted into the body of a young woman. To find a suitable candidate, Hettie advertises for “domestic help,” unwittingly setting a trap for unsuspecting job applicants.

Production on the film began in the late 1950s, but financial difficulties delayed its completion and release until 1963. Despite these setbacks, audiences are sure to appreciate the result.

“Monstrosity” has often been referred to as “the worst movie ever made.” Is that true? Come and see for yourself!

The Pike County Historical Society presents these movie events as a tribute to the historical roots of science fiction.

Tickets cost $40 each, or $35 for Pike County Historical Society members, and include dinner, a drink, dessert, coffee and the movie.

Reservations are required and can be made by calling 570/296-8126.
