LAKE HUNTINGTON, NY — The Sullivan West High School Musical Production Club will present Roald Dahl’s “Willy Wonka,” a stage adaptation of the classic “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” Friday and Saturday, March 13 and 14, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, March 15 at 2 p.m., in the Sullivan West High School auditorium.
“Filled with imagination, humor, and unforgettable songs, Willy Wonka brings audiences inside a magical chocolate factory where young Charlie Bucket and four other lucky golden ticket winners embark on a life-changing adventure led by the mysterious candy maker, Willy Wonka,” the school said.
Ryan Hoch plays Willy Wonka and Lukas Bressler is Charlie Bucket. The production also features David Newell as the Candyman, Brooklyn Moran as Mrs. Bucket, Ethan Escobar as Mr. Bucket, Christopher Lee as Grandpa Joe, Isabelle Passante as Grandma Josephine, Sky Wolf as Grandma Georgina and Ashton Avery as Grandpa George.
Touring the factory with Charlie are Augusta Gloop (Ruthie Decker), Mrs. Gloop (Riley Minckler), Veruca Salt (Sydney Fisher), Mr. Salt (Lucas Wingert), Violet Beauregarde (Emily Ducey), Mrs. Beauregarde (Jaelyn Brockner), Mike Teavee (Andrew Kitson) and Mrs. Salt (Liliana Soto). The ensemble includes Charli Rose Hewlett, Zoey McCarty, Haylee McKeen, Raina Bassney, Olivia Mathern, Aubrey Santiago, Victoria Skuthan, Tegan Somers and James Moran.
Based on the book by Roald Dahl, with music and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse and Timothy Allen McDonald, the show is presented through a special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
Tickets for adults cost $10 and for students $6; there is no charge for senior citizens aged 62 and up. On Sunday only, a four-pack of tickets costs $24 and a five-pack costs $30.
The production club “invites families, friends and community members to experience this sweet and spectacular production. From golden tickets to Oompa-Loompas, this show promises fun for audiences of all ages,” the school said.
