HONESDALE, PA — The Wayne County Creative Arts Council and the Greater Honesdale Partnership invite residents and visitors to celebrate America's 250th anniversary with one of the largest Independence celebrations in the region on Friday, July 3, in downtown Honesdale and Central Park. (Rain date is Saturday, July 11)
This year's America 250 Celebration in Pennsylvania promises a full day of patriotic spirit featuring live entertainment, family activities, artisan vendors, delicious food, and an unforgettable fireworks display at dusk.
The celebration begins on Main Street with patriotic music at the Fred R. Miller Pavilion. Visitors will also enjoy the stirring sounds of Fife and Drum musicians, who will march from the pavilion along Main Street to Central Park, officially kicking off the afternoon festivities.
Beginning at 1 p.m., Central Park comes alive with artisan vendors, food trucks, family activities and children's "Messy Art" hosted by Owl & Friends, giving young artists a fun, hands-on way to celebrate the holiday.
Live music takes center stage beginning at 3 p.m. with a lineup of performances throughout the afternoon and evening:
Visitors can also stop by the Runaway Train Brewery Beer Tent to enjoy the Official America 250 Celebration Beer while relaxing in the park and enjoying the day's entertainment.
As the sun sets, the celebration concludes with Honesdale's spectacular America 250 Fireworks Celebration, lighting up the night sky over Central Park beginning at dusk. This year's display promises to be bigger and better than ever, providing a memorable finale to a day filled with community pride and patriotic celebration.
