Rob Bresnahan saved three NEPA hospitals by brokering the Tenor Health deal that preserved Regional Hospital, Moses Taylor and Wilkes-Barre General, preventing the closure of some of the region’s only emergency rooms. State Rep. Bridget Kosierowski (D-114) credited Bresnahan as instrumental in keeping those hospitals open.
The congressman also:
Crossed party lines on the ACA: Bresnahan bucked his own party to vote for Affordable Care Act premium tax credit extensions to protect health insurance access for thousands of NEPA families.
Securing federal funding for NEPA health care: Submitted CPF requests of more than $3 million for Moses Taylor Hospital Women’s Imaging and Breast Cancer Center and $1.6 million for a Wayne Memorial Hospital MRI machine.
Secured nearly $200 million for rural health: Led the fight to secure $193 million in funding for rural health through the Rural Health Transformation Fund.
Cosponsored legislation to reduce prescription drug prices: Signed on as a cosponsor of the PBM Reform Act to increase transparency and stop middlemen from driving up the costs of prescription drugs.
