Bresnahan supported commercial driving jobs

Posted

As a resident of this district, I want to thank Congressman Rob Bresnahan for his support of the Dalilah Law and for standing up for American workers.

Our region sits at the crossroads of the nation’s supply chain, with five major interstates running through it and thousands of trucks on our roads every day. Commercial driving jobs should go to Americans and others who are here legally and have followed the rules to earn them. They should not go to drivers who can’t read a road sign or communicate with law enforcement in an emergency.

That’s why I was glad to see Bresnahan vote for Dalilah’s Law when it passed out of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in March. The bill would require CDL holders to demonstrate English proficiency and bar states from issuing commercial licenses to people in the country illegally. These are common-sense steps for public safety and for the truckers who play by the rules.

Bresnahan was elected to represent this district, and this vote shows he’s focused on our communities and the workers who call them home. I hope he keeps backing policies that strengthen our workforce and uphold the rule of law.
