Bresnahan stands for responsible growth

Posted

As data center development continues to grow across northeastern Pennsylvania, I am glad to see Congressman Rob Bresnahan standing up for the communities that call this region home.

Rob’s introduction of the Local Control Protection Act is exactly the type of common-sense leadership we need. Our small towns should have the ability to decide what is best for their residents without being bullied or pressured by billion-dollar corporations with endless resources.

Too often, hardworking Pennsylvanians feel like their voices are ignored when powerful interests come knocking. Local leaders and residents—not corporations or outside special interests—should have the final say when it comes to the future of their communities.

This legislation protects local control and ensures that towns are not forced into decisions because they fear costly legal battles. Communities should be able to make decisions based on what is best for their families, their taxpayers and their way of life.

I believe in responsible economic growth, but that growth must come with respect for the people who live here. Congressman Bresnahan understands that protecting Pennsylvania’s small towns and standing up for the little guy is just as important as bringing new opportunities to our region.

I’m proud to see Rob Bresnahan fighting for local communities and making sure their voices are heard.
