As a college student, I know firsthand how overwhelming the cost of higher education can feel. Between tuition, books, housing and the uncertainty of finding a good job after graduation, it’s easy to wonder whether all the hard work will pay off. That’s why I want to say thank you to Congressman Rob Bresnahan.
While many politicians talk about helping students, Congressman Bresnahan has supported investments that are making a real difference for colleges across Northeast Pennsylvania. Schools like Lackawanna College, Luzerne County Community College and Johnson College have received federal workforce development funding to improve training facilities, expand career-focused programs, and create more opportunities for students without forcing schools to raise tuition to make those improvements.
Those investments mean students have access to better equipment, stronger workforce programs and expanded opportunities in fields like health care, cybersecurity, logistics and advanced manufacturing. They also help open doors to scholarships, internships, apprenticeships and careers that can make it easier for students to graduate and begin their futures with less financial stress.
As someone preparing to enter today’s workforce, I appreciate having a representative who understands that investing in students is really an investment in our communities and our future. Congressman Bresnahan didn’t need to make a big spectacle of these efforts, but they deserve to be recognized. So, from one college student who hopes to build a future here in Northeast Pennsylvania, thank you, Congressman Bresnahan, for supporting students like me.
