SHOHOLA, PA — “The Boarding Houses of Shohola Township,” a pictorial history of early 20th boarding houses that helped make Shohola a preferred vacation destination, will be published this summer by the Shohola Railroad & Historical Society, beginning with an exclusive hardcover, limited numbered edition of 50 copies, which is available for order now.

The book is based on the collection of Dee Dee Backus, a member of the Shohola Railroad & Historical Society, who was an avid postcard collector. Her collection depicting boarding houses of Shohola Township in the early 20th century is the basis of the coffee table book. The book is dedicated to her memory and will consist of about 150 pages of historical postcards, photos and narrative.

Limited edition copies can be purchased, prepaid for $75, by sending your check to Shohola Railroad and Historical Society c/o Nick Luca, treasurer,  261 Route 434, Shohola, PA 18458 by May 1. There is a limit of one copy per household. The requests will be honored and numbered in the order they are received. Anticipated delivery date is August 1. Other editions will be available in the future.
