BETHEL - On Friday, December 20, 2024, Detectives from the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office Youth Division arrested Lenny J. Leal, 22, with residences in Brooklyn and Bethel.
It is alleged that the defendant had improper contact with an 11-year-old child. Lenny Leal was charged with the felony of Sex Abuse 1st degree and the misdemeanors of Forcible Touching and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor.
Leal was arraigned before Town of Thompson Judge Richard Baum and sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
The Judge issued an order of protection in favor of the victim and their family and directed that the defendant appear in the Town of Bethel Justice Court on Monday, December 23, 2024, at 10:00 am.
