HONESDALE, PA — The Grove: A Creative Commons and the Cooperage Project are teaming up for a music festival fundraiser. “Groovin’ in the Grove” will be held at the Cooperage on Saturday, August 29 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Proceeds will support the mission of both organizations: to strengthen community in the Poconos.
“The Cooperage Project is thrilled to host the Grove’s annual ‘Groovin’ in the Grove’! Our missions naturally align: Just as the Grove creates space for neighbors to gather, create and grow through the arts, the Cooperage Project exists to strengthen our community’s social fabric by offering programs shaped around what our neighbors need, want and hope for,” says Cooperage executive director Arrah Fisher. “Arts and culture are one of the strongest threads in that fabric—live music and creative celebration bring people together in a way few other things can. We’re proud to open our doors for this year’s festival and excited to keep collaborating with organizations like The Grove, so together we can reach more folks and build on the common ground we already share.”
Four bands will perform. Singer-songwriter Darian Rivera “will share his soulful blend of indie-rock, pop and country. The Robert Tellefsen Band will bring their Greenwich Village vibes to the stage. Alternative folk duo the Lucky Ones will share a mix of swingin’ originals and retro pop covers that’s a sonic blast of joy to behold. And the Vierling Duo will delight the audience with their vocal harmonies and unique acoustic arrangements,” the Cooperage said.
Greentown’s Snack Attack Foods and Jam Room Brewing Co. will serve up crowd-favorite beers and bites, and local vendors will offer their wares. Crafts, contests and games round out the event for what Grove president Megan Berens calls a “family-friendly afternoon of music, community and creativity.”
Tickets cost $15 for adults, $10 for ages 11 to 18, and are free for kids aged 10 and under.
