In typical Albany fashion, the state has blown past the legally mandated April 1 deadline for the state budget, forcing us to adopt an “extender” to keep the lights on and ensure that essential services to New Yorkers aren’t interrupted.
This is yet another example of the disarray that is one-party-ruled New York. Families across New York don’t get to pick and choose when they pay their bills, and neither should the state. The governor and legislature should continue to work nonstop until we pass a budget that works for New Yorkers.
