ROCHESTER, NY — The New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) will hold the 2024 All State Festival at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and the Eastman Theater Thursday, December 5 to Sunday, December 8. 

The event marks the return of three additional ensembles and an additional 250 students since the pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 conference. More than 800 of the best student musicians from school music programs across New York State will perform in one of eight ensembles at the 88th conference. 

This year, the 2024 All State ensembles will be led by the following conductors: 

Symphonic Band: Dr. Shayna Stahl (Two-time NYSSMA All State student)

Wind Ensemble: Dr. Evan Feldman

Mixed Chorus: Dr. Andrea Ramsey and Andrea Shaut, accompanist 

Treble Chorus: Dr. Amy Voorhees 

Symphonic Orchestra: Helen H. Cha-Pyo 

String Orchestra: Ching-Chun Lai

Instrumental Jazz: Bethany Robinson 

Vocal Jazz: Carol Jacobe and Nick Weiser, accompanist
