If I were able to vote in the Town of Delaware, I would be marking my ballot for both Al Steppich and Ian Blumenthal. Al and Ian have honorably served on Delaware’s town council and are both seeking re-election.

Several years ago, Al and I worked together successfully securing funding for our respective towns for repairs to our roadways from damage caused by repeated flooding. Through our collaboration, the Town of Delaware and the Town of Callicoon received funding to make necessary repairs and improvements without depleting our highway funds.

Al is a longtime, active member of the Jeffersonville Volunteer Fire Department, where he is highly respected by his brother and sister firefighters. Al is a proud military Veteran who served our great nation with honor during the Vietnam War.

Al is an expert marksman and an outspoken advocate for our Second Amendment rights. He has used his skills to train many young adults in the safe and correct use of firearms.

Ian Blumenthal is a smart, young business professional, a devoted husband and a terrific father. Ian’s soft-spoken nature and self-discipline make him very well liked by all who know him.

Recently, Ian helped organize a highly successful fundraiser that, largely due to his efforts, was held locally at the Beechwoods Clubhouse at the Villa Roma. Ian’s business acumen and vision for successful local businesses are just a few of the qualifications that make him a great council member now and in the future.

Al Steppich and Ian Blumenthal are two people from different generations who share many of the same qualities. Two of those qualities have no age bracket: common sense and devotion to service to the Town of Delaware.

Keep Al and Ian, the right pair for Delaware!
