I have a long list of wonderful things about living in the country, but access to taxis/car services in an emergency ain’t one of them.
How can we come together as a community and elevate being good neighbors into creating an emergency transportation safety net? We have remarkable volunteer firefighters and EMTs. Couldn’t we use that model to form a group of volunteer drivers, each of whom is on call once a month?
There is nothing quite like watching a loved one be taken off in an ambulance, as we are told to which hospital we should drive to find them.
