22-year-old charged with felony assault after allegedly running over man with pickup truck in Woodbourne

WOODBOURNE — On March 21, 2026, Fallsburg Police responded to the Neversink River access on Hasbrouck Drive in Woodbourne for a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.

Upon police arrival, a male victim was found lying on the ground in the area of the parking lot and he reported to police that he had been assaulted and then ran over by a pickup truck. The male victim was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Harris by W oodbourne EMS for further medical treatment.

Fallsburg Police then conducted an investigation into the alleged incident and 22-year-old Logan Sherman was charged with assault in the second degree, a felony, and leaving the scene of a personal injury motor vehicle accident, a misdemeanor.

Logan Sherman was arraigned in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court by the Honorable Judge Scheinman and was then released on his own recognizance. Logan Sherman is scheduled to appear in the Town of Fallsburg Justice Court at a later date. Fallsburg Police was assisted in the investigation by members from the Sullivan County Sheriffs Office and New York State Police.

Criminal charges are merely allegations that a defendant has committed violations of the criminal law, and as such they are not evidence of guilt. All defendants have a presumption of innocence and are entitled to a fair trial, during which it will be the burden of the State of New York to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
