HONESDALE, PA — When a patient’s life expectancy is limited, comfort is just a phone call away. Wayne Memorial Hospital’s Hospice Team offers a full spectrum of compassionate care, allowing patients to live their final days to the fullest. Our hospice care neither hastens nor postpones death; instead, it focuses on alleviating discomfort and providing advanced pain control, supporting patients in their desire to die with dignity and as much control as possible, in the comfort of their own homes. Our multi-disciplinary team of professionals and trained volunteers recognizes that the dying process is unique for everyone involved.
To expand the volunteer base in Wayne, Pike, Lackawanna and Susquehanna counties, the Wayne Memorial Hospital Hospice program will host spring training on the following dates: April 5 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., April 12 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and April 16 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendance at all three sessions, in addition to the WMH General Volunteer Orientation, is required.
If you have time and compassion to share with others, please call 570/253-8737 or email malicky@wmh.org to enroll by March 31. There is no cost to participate in the training.
