SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — Sullivan 180 has awarded the Healthier Generation Competition grants for the 2023-2025 cycle. The grants, $10,000 each, are awarded to schools to improve health and wellness, and to encourage a campaign to promote specific goals of the individual district’s wellness policy.
The winning schools are:
Eldred Junior Senior High School for the #EldredWasteWarriors composting program
George L. Cooke Elementary for its outdoor learning space and trail
Kenneth L. Rutherford Elementary for an update to its student support room, for trail signage and for snowshoes
Livingston Manor Middle/High School for its composting program, nature trail signage and support for its Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Club
“The schools continue to raise the bar when it comes to health and wellness and have brought the Healthier Generation Competition to a whole new level,” said Meaghan Mullally-Gorr, director of health and wellness at Sullivan 180.
Additional Healthier Generation Grant recipients will be announced over the coming weeks.
