CHERRY RIDGE TOWNSHIP, PA — Fire destroyed a home in Cherry Ridge Township, PA, in the early morning of Wednesday, April 12.

No injuries were reported.

The Seelyville Fire Company reports that its chief and deputy arrived to find fire consuming the right side of the house and spreading through the roof.

Responding firefighters were warned that people were possibly entrapped in the house. They brought the fire under control quickly then did a search, finding the house unoccupied.

One resident was helped out of the house earlier, by responders who arrived before the fire apparatus did. The resident was quickly treated and transported by EMS.

Other responders include the Honesdale, Lake Ariel, White Mills, Prompton, Waymart, Beach Lake, Lakeville, Hawley, and Browndale departments.

In early April, the White Mills Hotel was destroyed by fire. In Pike County in late March, a house in Lehman Township was also consumed in a blaze.
