HAWLEY, PA — The Chamber of the Northern Poconos will hold its annual Community Awards at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 8 at Woodloch Pines.

The chamber focuses on regional prosperity through helping member businesses succeed, by fostering new business development or by providing educational opportunities.

By recognizing business leaders, the chamber thanks them for “enhancing this region as a great place to live and work,” a spokesperson said.

The evening will begin with a social hour cash bar, followed by a buffet dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $80 per individual, $600 for tables of 8 and $750 for tables of 10.

Honored that evening will be Karen Mander, Apple Day Spa & Hair Restoration Salon, as 2023 Business Person of the Year.

The Chamber of the Northern Poconos also recognizes the contributions of nonprofit organizations that promote strong community involvement, foster the growth of business quality and community leadership through its programs, or is dedicated to providing outstanding service to residents. The chamber will honor the Wayne County Community Foundation as the Non-Profit Organization of the Year.

Our communities are shaped by the people who live in them, and especially by the contributions of extraordinary individuals. The Citizen of the Year Award celebrates those who have made a significant contribution through a unique achievement or outstanding service in any area that provides a benefit to the community. They have devoted time and energy to making Wayne or Pike County more caring, dynamic, beautiful, healthy and unique. They inspire by their example. The chamber will honor Albert and Elizabeth Baerenklau.

A commemorative booklet is being prepared for the evening and ad space is available.

The event is sponsored by The Chamber Chairman’s Circle and Woodloch.

The deadline for ads and reservations for the banquet is Monday, October 30.

The awards banquet and advertising are open to the public. Register and submit payment online at www.northernpoconos.org.

If you need assistance, contact the chamber at 570/226-3191 or email chamber@northernpoconos.org.
