HONESDALE, PA — Beverly Tomasetti, R.N., joined the staff of Wayne Memorial’s urology department in January, but she is no stranger to many on the team, a spokesperson said.

Tomasetti worked with head urologist Donald L. Preate Jr., M.D. for 14 years, first with his former private practice Delta Medix and then with his group practice at Lehigh Valley Health Network.

“I am thrilled to work again with Dr. Preate and look forward to our new practice at Wayne Memorial Hospital,” said Tomasetti. “Many of our patients have also followed us to our new home, and I also look forward to seeing them again.”

Tomasetti served in the U.S. Army in various locations, including Germany, Texas and North Carolina. She was a Clinical Specialist/Sergeant 1st Class and supervised a troop medical dispensary. In this position, she was responsible for overseeing 12 staff members including medics, X-ray and pharmacy personnel.

Tomasetti received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from Marywood University and her master’s degree in the science of nursing (with nurse practitioner certification) from the University of Scranton. 

“Beverly has always been an asset to our practice,” said Dr. Preate, “and we are very pleased that she decided to join us in Honesdale. She is very knowledgeable and caring, in addition to knowing intimately how we work as a team to provide the best quality of care for our patients.”

Dr. Preate, who is board certified in urology, operates out of a suite on the third floor of Wayne Memorial Hospital Monday through Friday. The urology office can be reached by calling 570/253-8201.
