HONESDALE, PA — Meeting on the last day of the state’s fiscal year, June 30, the Wayne County Commissioners OK’ed new full- and part-time salary schedules for 193 county human services employees, whose jobs are largely funded by state funding.

The commissioners action provided 2.75% wage increases for employees of agencies dealing with human services and the aged (107 employees), behavior development, early intervention (36 employees), the county’s drug and alcohol commission (10 employees) and children and youth services (40 employees).

Separately, in their ongoing effort to recognize employee longevity, the commissioners presented certificates of service to James Wayman (30 years), James Chapman (25 years) and Dawn Skinner (15 years).

The commissioners also announced a July 7 board of elections program to add 18 new people to the county’s “Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame” delegation. The designation honors those who have voted in November elections in 50 consecutive years.

The program is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room at the Wayne County Courthouse.
