WURTSBORO, NY — Assemblywoman Aileen Gunther, in cooperation with the Hudson Valley Workforce Development Institute and the Hudson Valley Area Labor Federation, will hold a forum titled “Child Care – A Critical Building Block in the Sullivan and Orange County Economy. Good for Children; Good for Working Families; Good for Business and Economic Development.” The conference will take place on Friday, March 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Mamakating Library, 154 Sullivan St. “Safe, stable and reliable child care is critical to a family’s financial security, as well as a child’s development,” said Gunther, a member of the New York State Assembly’s Child Care Workgroup.

“For too many families, child care is the single largest barrier to employment, and for working and middle class families, more support is needed to make child care affordable,” she said.

Friday’s dialogue will discuss child care in Orange and Sullivan Counties, as well as the Workforce Development Institute’s Child Care Subsidy Facilitated Enrollment Program.
