Kristina Kares raises $10,000; Money raised for literacy programs

A fundraiser held at Villa Roma Hotel and Resort raised $10,000, and marks a successful event for Kristina Assistance Relief Efforts Services (Kristina Kares), the non-profit organization that was founded in the memory of Kristina Adams. Adams was murdered in August 2012 in Damascus, PA by Rodney Ezrapour, according to the Wayne County District Attorney. Ezrapour then turned the gun on himself.

The fundraiser was held on April 13. Kristina’s mother, Cindy Adams, is one of the founders of the organization, which is committed to providing help in areas that were important to Kristina, such as literacy.

Adams issued a statement that said, “We at Kristina Kares are keeping Kristina’s memory positive and raising money for causes that Kris would have wanted to support if she had not been taken from us.

“Kristina Kares would like to thank everyone who honored Kristina’s life and helped to make our first fundraiser such an amazing success. Because of what everyone was willing to donate, whether it was time, talent, or money, we were able to raise $10,000 to divide between the Volunteers for Literacy of Sullivan County NY and Adult Literacy Program of Wayne/Pike Counties PA.

“In the future we will be holding events that will raise money for many different causes. We at Kristina Kares are doing what we can to make the future a little bit better for others and helping each other face each day without Kris.”

Donations may be made by mailing a check written to Kristina Kares to PO Box 161, Callicoon, NY 12723. Also, Kristina Kares may be contacted by going to Kristina Kares Organization on Facebook and sending a private message, or by emailing Cindy at cladams1216@yahoo.com.
