“Learn About Shale” launched by Marcellus Shale Coalition
The Marcellus Shale Coalition has announced the launch of Learn About Shale, an online tool designed to answer questions submitted by the public during the organization’s Ask About Shale initiative. During a three-month period, AskAboutShale generated more than 600 questions through community listening sessions, online submissions, post cards and telephone surveys on a range of topics, including the economic and environmental aspects of natural gas and government’s role in its development. Sample questions such as “Why not invest in wind and solar energy and leave oil and natural gas's dirty practices to the cavemen?” and “Why won't you disclose the hundreds of chemicals you’re pumping into the ground and back into our watershed here in PA?” will be addressed “straightforwardly and honestly,”according to the Marcellus Shale Coalition’s website. New questions may also be submitted. Visit www.learnaboutshale.org to learn more.
