On Wednesday November 18, 2015 State Police investigators assigned to the Sullivan County Family Violence Response Team along with investigators from the Liberty barracks arrested Jason Horton, age 31, of Maybrook, NY. Horton was arrested for three counts of the felony charge Rape in the Third Degree and one count of the felony charge Criminal Sexual Act in the Third Degree. He was additionally charged with the misdemeanor of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

Horton, while employed as English Teacher at the Tri-Valley School District, is accused of having sexual contact with a female student, under the age of 17, during school hours. Horton left the Tri-Valley School District in early November of 2015 and is currently employed by the Poughkeepsie School District.

Horton was arraigned in the Town of Neversink Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with bail set at $30,000 cash/bond.
