State Police at Ellenville announce the arrest of Michael A. Bangert Jr., age 17, of Napanoch for Rape 3rd, a Felony, Criminal Sexual Act 3rd, a Felony and Forcible Touching, a Misdemeanor.

Bangert was arrested and charged following an investigation which revealed he had engaged in sexual contact and sexual intercourse with a 14 year old female. Investigation also revealed that Bangert forcibly touched another 14 year old female on the intimate parts of her body. The incident occurred on July 2, 2014 at a friend's home in Napanoch. Bangert and the victims are acquaintances.

Bangert was arraigned in the Town of Wawarsing Court before Town Justice Charles Dechon and was remanded to the Ulster County Jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond and ordered to return to the Town of Wawarsing Court on July 11, 2014 at 8:30am.
