Livingston Manor teacher arrested for embezzlement

On May 8th, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested Sandra Taggart, age 46 of Livingston Manor after an investigation into the theft of funds from the fundraising account of the Class of 2015 at the Livingston Manor Central Schools.

State Police were alerted to the theft of funds in February 2014. An investigation determined that Taggart stole more than $10,000 cash from an account that held funds earned during fundraising activities. Taggart is employed by the Livingston Manor School District as a teacher and served as the adviser to the Class of 2015. In her position as class advisor, Taggart was responsible for managing class funds.

Taggart was charged with Grand Larceny 3rd Degree and Falsifying Business Records in the 1st Degree, felonies and Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor. An arraignment in the Town of Rockland Court is pending.
