On Thursday April 29, 2014 State Police at Liberty arrested Garry Woodberry, age 53 of Brooklyn, NY after stopping a car he was a passenger in and finding him in possession of crack cocaine. Troopers stopped the vehicle on Jefferson St in the Village of Monticello. Woodberry initially gave Troopers a false name. He was subsequently found to be in possession of more than ten grams of crack cocaine, packaged for sale.
Woodberry was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, felonies. He was additionally charged with False Personation, a misdemeanor. Woodberry was arraigned in the Village of Liberty Court and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail with no bail set. He is scheduled to reappear in the Village of Monticello Court on May 2nd.
