NEW YORK STATE POLICE PRESS RELEASE

On August 24, 2013 at approximately 5:30pm, The New York State Police at Liberty responded to a report of an ATV accident on NewTurnpike Rd in the Town of Cochecton. Investigation revealed that Glenn Adycki, age 31, of Lynbrook, NY, was operating a 2010 Polaris Sportsman 550 ATV on the side of New Turnpike Rd with eight year old passenger Alex Huertas of Malverne, NY, as a rear seat passenger.

The ATV entered a ditch and turned over, pinning Huertas underneath. Passersby Niko Ibanez and Paul Degiglio removed the ATV from Huertas and contacted 911. Huertas was transported to Grover M. Hermann Hospital in Callicoon, NY where he was pronounced dead. Adycki sustained minor injuries.

An autopsy is scheduled at the Catskill Regional Medical Center to determine the cause of death.
