The New York State Police announce the arrest of RASHEED HART, age 35, of Monticello, NY, for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental administration in the second degree, and resisting arrest.

On April 23, 2013, at approximately 1:25 AM, troopers stopped a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr for traffic violations on State Route 17 in the Town of Wallkill. The driver of the vehicle, identified as RASHEED HART, threw a package to the ground containing a powder substance as he attempted to run away from the troopers. HART was taken into custody and the troopers determined that the package contained approximately 56 grams of heroin.

HART was arraigned in Town of Wallkill Court and was committed to Orange County Jail without bail.
