SULLIVAN COUNTY, NY — The Sullivan County Soil & Water Conservation District has announced its annual spring tree and shrub program. Landowners can choose from a wide variety of deciduous and conifer trees and shrubs and specialized packets such as nut tree, flowering tree amd shrub, wildflower, butterfly and perennials. Tree size and age allows the purchaser to select what’s right for their needs. A range of quantities is offered at reduced costs to promote conservation plantings. Other items available through the program are fruit trees, ground covers and wildlife habitat housing.
Trees and shrubs offered through the district program can be planted for a number of purposes including Christmas tree production, timber production, wildlife habitat, windbreaks, hedges, screens, and streambank and road bank stabilization.
