LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — New Hope Community (NHC) welcomed many of its supporters and friends to the historic Big G golf course at Grossinger’s Country Club in Liberty on May 19 for the fourth annual Wallace Berkowitz Cup.

Among the earliest charity golf outings in the Catskills, this year the Wallace Berkowitz Cup drew over 100 golfers. The round of 18 holes was bookended by a continental breakfast and putting contest in the morning and cocktail hour and prime rib dinner in the evening, as well as an awards ceremony. The event raised more than $22,000 dollars for the NHC Foundation.

The winning foursome was sponsored by Kristt Company of Monticello, NY, and included Gene Kelly of Kristt Company, Jared Kaufman of PN Fire & Burglar Alarm Company, Craig Fleishman of Monticello Bagel Corp. and Michael Lofaro. Golfer Jesse Gionta, who played on a foursome sponsored by Hagedorn & Company, shot a hole-in-one to win a $500 shopping spree provided by M&M Auto.
