LIBERTY, NY — Volunteers who help with 2014 Sullivan Renaissance projects are eligible to apply for two different college scholarships. Applications for both programs, full details and requirements are available at www.sullivanrenaissance.org.

The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties, through a donor-advised fund established by Sullivan Renaissance, offers a limited number of scholarships to Sullivan County residents who volunteer and make a significant contribution to a 2014 Renaissance project. Scholarships are for the 2015 spring semester at an undergraduate college. Applications are due no later than Monday, August 4.

The SUNY Sullivan Foundation will also award scholarships to volunteers involved in a 2014 Renaissance projects. The application deadline is Monday, July 21. Scholarships of $1,500 are available for full-time students. To receive a full-time award, an applicant must be a Sullivan County resident attending or planning to attend SUNY Sullivan full-time for the 2014-2015 academic year and must be a June 2014 graduate of a Sullivan County high school.

Since grants were awarded in April, many communities have been hard at work on their projects and are looking for help before judging begins on August 7. For a list of the groups and projects call Sullivan Renaissance at 845/295-2445. For information about the SUNY Sullivan scholarship, call 845/434-5750, ext. 4327.
