PLEASANT MOUNT, PA — The Pleasant Mount Quilting Guild is offering a beginners’ class called Quilting 101. Participants will make a simple table runner designed to teach basic quilting techniques. Classes will run three Thursday nights from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Mount Public Library, 385 Great Bend Tpk.
The first class, held on June 26, will cover an introduction to quilting, fabric cutting and making a nine patch. The second class will be held July 10 and covers quilting your piece. At the final class on July 17, quilters will learn how to bind their piece.
The $25 class fee includes a fabric kit for the table runner. Participants need to bring a sewing machine, extra needles in size 12, neutral cotton thread, scissors, pins, seam ripper, rotary cutter, plastic ruler and cutting mat.
