Documentary screening on sex trafficking

HONESDALE, PA — A screening of an award-winning documentary film on juvenile sex-trafficking in America will take place on Wednesday, April 9 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the YMCA, 105 Park Street.

Local members of CASST (Collaborative Action on Slavery and Sex Trafficking) will present “Chosen,” a film for teenagers, parents, educators, law enforcement and concerned citizens. It documents the story of two girls who escaped entrapment and forced prostitution in the growing commercial sex industry. The film shows first-hand the clear and present danger of juvenile sex-trafficking in today’s American cities and towns, and why, although well documented, you may still not be hearing about it.

CASST will present current statistics and lead a group discussion on how children and teens are targeted by organized gangs, groomed and abducted into the commercial sex industry. Resources will be provided. For more information call 570/251-7800.
