JEFFERSONVILLE, NY — The Western Sullivan Public Library’s Public Computer Center (PCC) is running several events through February. Look for the five-part “Take Control of Your Photos” series, which will begin with the Managing Photos classes on Saturday, February 1 and 8 in Narrowsburg from 1 to 3 p.m. Participants will learn how to download pictures from a camera or phone to a computer or other device, how to do basic editing, and work on moving and storing pictures both online and off. To continue this series, three classes on photo editing will be offered using a free alternative to PhotoShop called GiMP. Students will learn how to do basic edits, repair damaged photographs, and practice more advanced techniques. The photo editing classes will be held on Wednesdays in Callicoon from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on February 12, 19, and 26. Students should arrive at class with GiMP on their device or plan to use a library laptop.

Many other classes and computer support are available; check the website wsplonline.org/PCC for the schedule. All services of the PCC are free. Registration for courses may be done by calling the library at 845/887-4040 (Callicoon), 845/482-4350 (Jeffersonville), or 845/252-3360 (Narrowsburg), or through the website.
