LIBERTY, NY — The Catskill Exotic Bird Club will hold its 20th annual Pet Bird Show on Sunday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Liberty Ambulance Corps building. Owners of pet can enter their own birds; the entry fee is $1 a bird. Every type of exotic bird will be judged in its own division. Every entry is checked by a veterinarian before being admitted to the show.
This year, for the first time, the show will include a separate youth division. Any child 12 or under may enter his or her pet bird in a 4-H style judging. After the youth judging, the birds will be entered into the overall competition.
There will be vendors, and also a large raffle area with bird toys, accessories and food, all donated by local and regional pet stores and major national manufacturers; and an interactive education area with tame birds, magazines, newsletters and handouts.
Bird registration begins at 8 a.m. Admission costs $3 for adults, $1 for children under 12. Email mfrumess@hvc.rr.com or call 845/292-5242.
